Athar has launched “Ana al-Athar”, a new program focused on healthy nutrition and diabetes prevention for women in East Jerusalem, in partnership with Clalit’s Sheikh Jarrah leadership team.
The first meeting took place at the Clalit Abu Tor, where participants were welcomed warmly before beginning with basic health screenings. The nursing team conducted blood sugar checks, as well as weight and height measurements, helping each participant begin the program with a clearer picture of her health.
The session then introduced the importance of healthy nutrition and preventive care, followed by an enriching lecture with a dietitian. Participants explored key topics including digestion, the role of the pancreas, food quality and quantity, nutrition-related hormones, and how to begin building a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle.
The meeting closed with breathing and relaxation exercises, creating a gentle connection between physical health and emotional well-being.
“Ana al-Athar” reflects Athar’s broader approach: making health knowledge practical, accessible, and rooted in community. By bringing together trusted health professionals and women from East Jerusalem, the program offers not only information, but a pathway toward prevention, confidence, and long-term change.
